School of Human and Health Sciences
As part of the School’s ambitious research strategy and to build on current successes, we are awarding 7 fully funded three year studentships this year.
The School of Human and Health Sciences is probably unique in the north of England in the way it combines a range of academic and professional disciplines in the health, social care and criminal justice fields, together with the social and political sciences. It has a particular commitment to developing multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary areas, which is demonstrated in these projects.
All postgraduate students are thoroughly integrated into the research culture of the School. Full-time research students are accommodated in state-of-the-art office accommodation, and have full access to all resources within the University.
You would be allocated two research supervisors, one of whom is designated as Main Supervisor, who will have extensive experience in supervising students to successful completion. A supervisory team is chosen in relation to their experience and expertise in relation to the substantive topic under investigation, theoretical orientations, and methodological approaches being adopted by the student. The supervisory team keeps in regular contact and formal supervision takes place at least once a month.
Each studentship is worth £12,600 per year, plus payment of full registration fees and generous support.
