Nursing Training

Nursing is one of the most worthwhile and hottest careers around today. The U.S. Department of Labor predicts the need for more than a million new registered nurses by 2012. The nursing career requiring the least training is that of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or vocational nurse. Training for vocational nursing takes about a year, culminating in a diploma. This nursing career involves you greatly in the day to day bedside care of patients. Registered nursing requires more training, but allows you to carry out more complex medical procedures and therefore earn more money. You can become a registered nurse by undertaking either an associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing. The higher the qualification, the more you can specialize and earn. Registered nursing is a wide and fascinating career. In a hospital, you are often the first responder after a person enters hospital. Working with a doctor you will test, diagnose and treat. You may choose to specialize in midwifery, acute-care nursing or oncology. Nursing truly is the caring profession. Many nursing professionals study as long and as hard as doctors as they progress through their nursing career. They can command high salaries and a great deal of responsibility, along with immense job
satisfaction.
